Log into your NetCruiser account, and make very sure no other NetCruiser clients (e-mail, WWW, etc) are running! Then click on "Settings", choose "Startup Options" and select the option to "Autoload Netcom's winsock.dll". Click on 'OK'. You can't see or select this option with other programs running! At this point you will need to exit NetCruiser to make the changes active. Now you can log back into your account, minimize the NetCruiser window, and run mIRC from Program Manager. If you have NetCruiser version 2.1, you may configure the Application Launcher to run mIRC from the floating toolbar. NOTE: NetCruiser is a 16-bit winsock application, and 32-bit applications will not work on it! You have to make sure you run mirc.exe (the 16 bit issue) and NOT the mirc32.exe. Also read (!) http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/1180/ http://www.netcom.com/faq/pc/ 1) Download the 16 bit mIRC4.72 (or later) 2) Go to Windows Explorer or File Manager, locate mirc472t.exe or mirc472s.exe, and doubleclick on it to install mIRC. 3) Start NetCruiser Now 4) Go to NETCRUISER:FILE, at the bottom is Application Launcher select LOAD MANUALLY -- this brings up the app launcher menu. 5) Highlight both the netcruiser winsock and mIRC 4.6 and launch this creates an icon for the winsock/mIRC (it's a question mark), and also enables the mIRC icon to pop up. 6) After logging on, select the question mark (winsock) FIRST! then select the mIRC Icon -- this starts the winsock before mIRC. That's it :)
