Passwords
If you ever forget your mIRC password (the one you use to LOCK mIRC in the File/Options/General/Lock menu) you can find and change or remove it in your System Registry. This file with looots of windows settings can be found and edited by starting your RegEdit program (regedit.exe) in the c:\windows\ directory.
Beware: changing settings in your registry files is NOT RECOMMENDED. It can harm and permanently stop the functionality of your PC. We really urge you to not, never ever touch the registry file, and if you do we take no responsibility whatsoever.
Look for this section;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > mIRC > lock
there should be one key in there " (default) " something like 16846168,1 or
something;
To remove it completely, double click on the key, then erase the whole thing.
To only remove the password, just remove the first string of numbers, then go
back to mIRC and add your new password into mIRC.
Channel or Nickname passwords.
We can not help you with passwords for IRC servers, channels, nicknames or whatever. Those passwords are not stored in or in any way associated with mIRC. We do not maintain any IRC network, IRC server or IRC channel. We do not run, offer or maintain any nickname or channel service. We keep no backups of passwords or whatever.
mIRC Registrations.
If you registered your copy of mIRC and you forgot your Name and/or Registration Code you should contact Khaled. But first look for that E-mail with registration information he personally sent you, remember? You had to store it in a safe place ;-)
